As experts, we can only play the game of joy with each other. We’re good.
We learnt the game together. We’ve honed our skills.
You toss out a compliment unexpectedly, to me, a mere scrap. It’s nice; this is joy. One point to you.
This is what we play for. And then you cut me down, a sharp word. That look in your eyes. O despair. That’s even better –
for you - two points.
The point of the game of joy is someone
i am somewhere patientThe dull inexorable beat, the way it hurtsi am somewhere patient
And all the universes come forwards, loop,
loop again, spin sideways, intricate spider webs of cause and effect, of finality. Look at them all. I see you there, in that shiny threadlike glowing universe in the middle,
drinking a cup of coffee. Again. Drinking a styrofoam cup of coffee, again & again. Taking your head in your hands. Why
do you sigh so? Don’t you see how perfectly you fit into this one loop?
Don’t you see how this one state was created
merely for you to drink your cup of coffee? Rewind again; you drink.
for the fun of it and why notwe go everywhere for the fun of it and why not it’s still sunny obviously, the sun is out look at it there ain’t it pretty yes indeedfor the fun of it and why not
I love you and all your kith and kin I love you try not to breathe too hard just lightly lightly waft it up let it glide into the air gently it’s not impossible I swear I think you will all die one day and you will be happy I swear let your work fill you up with glee burn up like a candle and then die exhausted and happy and full let nothing come to the light but old truths please make them count please I want every single child to be freckled and smilin
